My interest in this novel stems primarily from a captivating manhua (comic) I stumbled upon and eagerly read. At that time, I was specifically looking for a story featuring a genius female character set in ancient China. Most available research and narratives seemed to revolve around the familiar theme of a 'genius doctor', but after a few clicks, I discovered two intriguing comics, including this story, that sparked my interest.
I really enjoy reading comics because they offer a refreshing change of pace from novels and TV dramas. However, I often find they can feel incomplete, as many details are left out. For example, this comic has over 600 pages, which is impressive compared to some other comics, while the corresponding novel contains 5,218 chapters! I recommend starting with the comic to avoid any frustration from missing scenes in the novel. That said, if you're open to it, you could always begin with the novel instead. Personally, I started with the comic.

I haven't started translating the novel that inspired the comic yet, but I plan to work on it as I read.
