Chapter 15

The Yangchun Pill

At Mo Yang nodded and leisurely took another sip of his tea, inquiring, “What types of Medicinal Pills do the two Elders want to refine?”

The Grand Elder and Second Elder, both visibly anxious, immediately retrieved two Pill Formulas from their robes and handed them over to him without saying a word.

“This is a Pill Formula I stumbled upon over ten years ago. I heard it could help Tianxuan Realm Supreme Experts unlock their profound meridians,” the Second Elder explained, his expression filled with anticipation. They had no expertise in Alchemy but understood the value of Pill Formulas. Having cherished this one since its discovery, it meant a great deal to them.

Mo Yang took the first document, glanced at it, and then fixed the Second Elder with a peculiar look.

He recognized the formula; it was detailed in the Shen Dan Dao Ancient Scroll. It was known as the Yangchun Pill! Mo Yang had memorized the formula recorded in the ancient scroll of Divine Pill Dao, recognizing it right away.

When the Star Emperor Sutra and the mystical Pagoda manifested, Mo Yang found himself transformed in ways far beyond mere physical strength. Over the last decade, under the guidance of the Fourth Elder, he had already been recognized as a remarkably intelligent young man. However, this newfound power endowed him with a stunning eidetic memory that complemented his already high IQ, allowing him to absorb and recall information with unparalleled clarity.

At just sixteen, Mo Yang was not merely a gifted youth; he had become a genius, with capabilities far surpassing those of his peers. His intellect was sharp, enabling him to analyze complex situations swiftly, while his senses—both physical and mental—were enhanced to extraordinary levels.

The Yangchun Pill had a very specific purpose; according to the ancient scroll, it was also known as the Qiyang Pill . In essence, it was a formulation crafted specifically for men struggling in certain aspects, designed to restore one’s virility.

Mo Yang glanced at the Pill Formula once more before returning his gaze to the Second Elder, a smirk on his face.

Seeing Mo Yang’s reaction, the Second Elder’s face paled slightly, and he quickly asked, “Is it possible to refine the Medicinal Pill from this Pill Formula?”

Both Su Fei and the Grand Elder turned their attention to Mo Yang, awaiting his response.

Mo Yang adjusted his expression and furrowed his brow slightly before speaking, “It can be refined, but Second Elder, you’ve cherished this Pill Formula for over a decade. Are you truly unaware of what Medicinal Pill it corresponds to?”

Shaking his head in confusion, the Second Elder admitted that he had never explored the Dao of Alchemy deeply. While he could identify the listed medicinal ingredients, he couldn't determine the Medicinal Pill's purpose.

“Cough, cough!” Mo Yang suppressed a laugh, clearing his throat before replying, “This is the Yangchun Pill, also known as Qiyang!”

The Second Elder exchanged glances with the Grand Elder, sensing something was off, and frowned, “Is it beneficial for cultivators in the Sky Realm?”

With difficulty hiding his amusement, Mo Yang nodded, “Of course! In fact, it’s effective not just for the Sky Realm but even for those in the Ascent Realm, or the Immortal Realm, and will yield miraculous results when consumed!”

Both the Grand Elder and the Second Elder appeared surprised, their eyes glinting with joy at the revelation that this Pill Formula was so remarkable.

Puzzled, Su Fei couldn’t help but inquire, “Brother Mo Yang, what exactly does this Yangchun Pill do? Is it genuinely that impressive?”

“Cough, cough... It can help a man regain his vigor, so you tell me if that’s impressive?” Mo Yang couldn't elaborate further in front of this innocent girl.

The Grand Elder and the Second Elder immediately understood the implication. They had sensed something unusual about the Medicinal Pill’s name earlier, and Mo Yang’s explanation made it clear.

The Second Elder’s face turned red, yet instead of feeling disappointed, a spark of excitement lit up his eyes.

“Really?” He asked eagerly, a bright glint in his gaze.

Mo Yang looked at the Second Elder with a playful smile, glancing meaningfully in a specific direction, and commented, “It seems the Second Elder is truly getting on in years…”

“Uh… cough, cough…” The Second Elder felt embarrassed and choked slightly, mentally cursing himself for being too eager.

Su Fei stood nearby, utterly confused, as Mo Yang and the others seemed to be speaking in riddles that she couldn’t decipher.

“What does Mo Yang mean by ‘regain his vigor’?” she wondered.

“Fei’er, it’s getting late. You should head back,” the Grand Elder said, attempting to maintain a facade. “We still need to discuss a few matters with Mo Yang.”

Reluctantly, Su Fei glanced at Mo Yang before departing, her mind swirling with questions. “If you won’t tell me, I’ll just ask Senior Sister Xu for clarification!” she muttered.

The expressions of the two Elders turned serious. The Second Elder quickly approached to close the door, lowering his voice to ask Mo Yang, “Is what you said truly accurate?”

Even the Grand Elder looked hopeful, his gaze fixed intently on Mo Yang.

Suppressing a laugh, Mo Yang replied earnestly, “Yes, it’s true. However, Second Elder, given your age, you should take better care of yourself. Why chase after those matters? Some things are meant to follow nature. If it’s past, then it’s past; no need to force it.”

Before the Second Elder could respond, the Grand Elder interjected.

He stated sternly, “As cultivators, we challenge the heavens with our cultivation. We can't simply let nature govern our paths!”

Mo Yang glanced at the Grand Elder, his expression hinting at amusement.

The Grand Elder became embarrassed and changed the subject, handing Mo Yang the second document. “What about my Pill Formula? Which Medicinal Pill does it correspond to?”

Mo Yang shook his head and replied, “This Pill Formula is flawed. The properties of the listed medicinal ingredients conflict with one another. I’m not sure where the Grand Elder got this, but I think you’ve been deceived!”

Hearing this, the Grand Elder cursed, “Damn it! I knew that old coot couldn't be so generous, selling me the Pill Formula for just two hundred thousand silver notes!”

He muttered curses under his breath before calming down and addressing Mo Yang, “In the past, we may have held some biases against you. That was our fault. Please don’t hold it against us!”

The Second Elder nodded fervently, looking genuinely sincere.

Mo Yang smirked internally but maintained a composed exterior, saying, “They say children speak unfiltered, and adults should be benevolent. I can at least show some tolerance. Elders, rest assured, I won’t bear a grudge!”

Grand Elder: “…”

Second Elder: “…”

Their faces darkened significantly. They realized Mo Yang was deliberately teasing them, but for now, they had to nod awkwardly since they still needed something from him.

“Grand Elder, just tell me what you need!” Mo Yang prompted.

“Well, Mo Yang, since you’ve learned from a master and become an Alchemist, do you have any other Medicinal Pills that can aid in cultivation?”

“I don’t have any Medicinal Pills, but I can provide Pill Formulas. Unfortunately, I lack the necessary Spiritual Plants, so the Grand Elder might be disappointed!” Mo Yang responded, suppressing a grin as he contemplated how to gain some leverage from the Elders.

Upon hearing this, the Grand Elder’s face brightened, and he quickly replied, “That’s not an issue at all! As long as it can be refined, I’ll take care of the Spiritual Plants!”

Mo Yang had been waiting for this response and felt a rush of satisfaction.

Feigning hesitation, he finally nodded, saying, “If the Spiritual Plants can be acquired, then I can definitely handle the Medicinal Pills!”

With that, he skillfully picked up the wolf-hair brush on the table and started to write. After a few moments, he paused and handed over the paper to the Grand Elder.

“These are the medicinal ingredients needed for the Qiankun Pill. This pill has the power to reverse the universe. Once consumed, breaking through realms becomes a breeze. I also possess some of the other necessary ingredients, so there’s no need for the Grand Elder to worry. Just find these specific Spiritual Plants, and I’ll take care of the rest!”

The Grand Elder eagerly accepted the list and began reviewing it. As he examined it, his expression grew increasingly grim, and beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.

What kind of Divine Pill was this?

Just a portion of the ingredients listed comprised over ten different types!

Moreover, the required quantity for each ingredient was quite substantial.

Mo Yang had carefully selected the ingredients; they were all attainable but hardly ordinary.

“The refinement of the Qiankun Pill is quite challenging. With my current Alchemy skills, it’s tough to guarantee success on the first attempt…” Mo Yang sighed softly, feigning helplessness.

He paused, then continued, “So the quantity is a bit more… We are all from the same Sect, so we don’t need to be strangers. Leave the other Spiritual Plants to me!”

The Grand Elder couldn't help but wipe the cold sweat from his forehead. This was going to make him lose everything.

However, he knew nothing about Alchemy, but for the sake of cultivation, he gritted his teeth, feeling his heart bleed, and after a moment of contemplation, he nodded and said, “Alright, I will gather the Spiritual Plants as soon as possible!”

The Second Elder on the side also hastily said, “If I also gather a set, can I…”

Before he could finish speaking, Mo Yang interjected, “No problem, finding Spiritual Plants is not easy, I understand that. Both Elders, rest assured!”

Mo Yang was already overjoyed in his heart; this was exactly the effect he wanted.

After the Second Elder finished speaking, he then went over to look at the list of Spiritual Plants. After just one glance, his face immediately darkened.

Then he kept reaching up to wipe the cold sweat from his forehead.

At this moment, Mo Yang looked at the Yangchun Pill’s Pill Formula in his hand and asked, “So, Elders, are you still refining this Medicinal Pill?”

“This… yes, the Spiritual Plants… I’ll go find them!” The Second Elder immediately said, his tone very firm.

The Grand Elder also busily nodded, then asked, “Counting my portion, should we prepare an extra set of Spiritual Plants?”

Mo Yang showed a difficult expression, nodded, and sighed lightly, “Although this Medicinal Pill has good efficacy, another Medicinal Pill I know of has even better effects. Just one pill will surely satisfy both Elders, but it requires two additional types of Spiritual Plants!”

The two Elders exchanged glances, a sharp glint flashing in their eyes, and almost simultaneously said, “No matter, as long as it can be refined, nothing else is a problem!”

Mo Yang nodded and immediately picked up his pen again to list two more Spiritual Plants.

After handing the list of medicinal herbs to the two Elders, Mo Yang specifically gave them a few more instructions.

The Grand Elder and the Second Elder carefully put away the list before exiting the room.

Even after walking out of the small courtyard, the Grand Elder and the Second Elder were still wiping cold sweat from their foreheads.

However, both of them knew that their cultivation had been stagnant for many years. If they could achieve a breakthrough with this, let alone just gather two sets of medicinal herbs, even if it meant losing all their possessions, they would be willing. Ultimately, the journey of Alchemy is extensive, with numerous future chances to utilize medicinal herbs.

Because for cultivators like them, a cultivation breakthrough was better than anything else!

Watching the Grand Elder and the Second Elder leave the small courtyard, Mo Yang couldn't help but burst into laughter.

He felt like he had finally let out a breath!

The Qiankun Pill did help with cultivation, but only seven types of medicinal herbs were needed to refine it, which was far fewer than the many herbs typically required.

The two additional medicinal herbs in the Yangchun Pill were clearly intentionally added by Mo Yang. They were actually not needed at all; he was merely taking the opportunity to stock up on more medicinal herbs.

After all, the path of Alchemy was long, and there would be many more opportunities to use medicinal herbs in the future.

Mo Yang felt no remorse for deceiving the elders to achieve his goals. He owed them nothing; in fact, the situation was quite the opposite. For a decade, he had been largely overlooked while the elders deliberately ignored the humiliation and bullying he endured, fully aware of it. Only his master stood up for him. Additionally, with his current proficiency in alchemy, Mo Yang could easily refine both the Qiankun Pill and the Yangchun Pill using only a very small portion of the medicinal herbs he already possessed.
