National School Prince is a Girl - V1C26

Chapter 26: Are you a boy or a girl?

Meanwhile, Qin Mo was sitting in the company office during an overseas market conference. The company specialized in online games, so having a computer switched on was common practice.

Meanwhile, in the Fu residence, Fu Jiu sat at her laptop, aware that meetings could take a while, especially in the evening. She decided to play a couple of rounds of games and managed to achieve a full combo (FC)[i]

Afterward, she prepared for a shower, towel in hand. She thought to herself, things could wait until after her shower.

On the other side, Qin Mo finished his meeting and reopened his silver notebook and neck-plus-ultra laptop. His secretary stood beside him, frozen in place, unable to speak or move. However, he couldn’t help but steal glances at his CEO. Although Qin Mo was a revered figure in the world of electronic gaming, he had never engaged in chat while gaming before. What was different today? This was the second time he had seen his CEO typing in a chat.

*Still there?* the CEO sent.

But the other party seemed to have gone inactive and didn’t reply. Qin Mo remained still, sitting with his legs crossed and his eyes glued to the screen. Was he really going to wait for a response? The secretary was baffled. Who was this person intriguing enough to make the CEO wait?

*I’m here, I’m here! I was taking a shower,* Fu Jiu responded as soon as she saw the notification light upon exiting her shower. She typed with one hand while drying her hair with the other. Water droplets dripped from her cropped hair, gliding down her androgynous face and soaking into her white shirt. The scene was striking.

Back in the large meeting room, upon seeing her reply, Qin Mo bluntly asked, *Are you a boy or a girl?*

Fu Jiu paused, blinking slightly. *Male,* she replied. Then she added playfully, *What? Almighty Qin, don’t tell me you have an online crush on me?*

Qin Mo's cold, lonely black eyes suddenly flashed with intensity.

The secretary behind him couldn’t help but cough loudly. This person is incredibly bold! Wouldn't the CEO simply lose his temper and take him down? Secretary Liang had initially planned to go home early, but now he had changed his mind and decided to stay. Watching his CEO get teased was far more entertaining than any TV show.

However, just as he made this decision, Qin Mo took his laptop and said in an indifferent tone, "Secretary Liang, since you enjoy company drama so much, please stay here and work overnight. I'll come back to check on the results tomorrow." Secretary Liang thought, "CEO, you can't do this to me!!!"

Qin Mo pressed the elevator button, walked into the break room on the rooftop, and allowed a small smile to appear on his face, as delicate as an eternal ice flower in the North Pole. Fu Jiu sent a message, *?*" after noticing that he hadn't replied.

Ding.

As Qin Mo settled beside the floor-to-ceiling window and reopened his laptop, he saw the message. He replied slowly, *I’m not interested in guys, but if you were a girl, I would show you how I LIKE someone.* He emphasized the word "like" in capitals—it definitely wasn't innocent.

Fu Jiu understood the hidden meaning and felt her cheeks flush. To avoid jeopardizing their potential relationship before their meeting, she cleverly shifted the topic. *So, what specific time will you be free tomorrow, morning or afternoon?*

*Afternoon,* he replied, keeping it brief. Fu Jiu thought to herself that this man didn't say much unless he was upset.

She glanced at her watch and said, *Then let's meet after school. My last class ends at 6 p.m., and I can be at Lan Ning Café near University A by 6:15 p.m. Be there or be square!* With that, she started to log off.

To her surprise, another message came through, *Hold on a sec.*

*Hm?* Fu Jiu raised an eyebrow.

Qin Mo's expression was cold, yet curious. *Why do you want to meet up?*

*Well, being chased like that does bother me.* She sent this message, setting down her towel and waiting for a response. Of course, she couldn't reveal her true feelings online.

Qin Mo responded with a cold *Oh,* clearly unconvinced. Then he added, *Give me your WeChat contact info.*

Fu Jiu had anticipated this. She gave him her WeChat ID[ii]: "SPADEZ."

He responded with a thumb-up emoji. His words were as straightforward as his personality—arrogant and to the point. It seemed like this Almighty CEO had little interest in continuing the conversation. After all, girls were more sought after in the gaming world. However, she already knew what he looked like. Once she arrived at the café, she would ask for Qin Mo directly. If he was in a VIP room and didn't provide any information, that was okay; she could just use WeChat.

After sorting everything out in her mind, Fu Jiu turned off her laptop and went to bed. She didn’t have her phone with her, so she didn’t realize that several identical friend request notifications had popped up, waiting for her confirmation...

On the rooftop of Qin Corporation, outside the floor-to-ceiling window, the city was illuminated at night, its glow reflected inch by inch in Qin Mo's eyes. He held a wine glass in one hand and stared at his phone screen.

His expression grew colder by the moment... Still not confirmed? Fine! Just wait and see how he handles "him" when they meet tomorrow!

[i] A "full combo" (often abbreviated as FC) in video games means completing an entire level, song, or match without missing a beat, dropping a note, or taking damage. In a full combo video, a player records and shares a flawless performance, demonstrating elite mastery and timing.

[ii] WeChat (known as Weixin in mainland China) is the country's dominant "super-app," blending instant messaging, social media, and mobile payments into an essential part of daily life. It is widely used for everything from splitting restaurant bills to hailing taxis and accessing public services.
