National School Prince is a Girl - V1C5

Chapter 5: Hypocrisy is intolerable

"Young Master, are you alright? Young Master?" Just as Fu Jiu arrived downstairs, she saw her little butler, Chen Xiaodong, chasing after her breathlessly. The anxiety in his eyes was obvious and sincere.

"Are you hurt? Did Huo Siyu… did it happen again?"

Fu Jiu didn't let him finish and replied, "I hit her back."

"What?!" Chen Xiaodong, breathless from running, questioned, "Young Master, you weren't beaten up?"

Fu Jiu raised an eyebrow. "Do I really look like someone who was beaten up?"

But Chen Xiaodong thought to himself, Truth is, you were beaten up!

He noticed that his young master had been different since he woke up at the hospital. His demeanor was far more attractive.

"Did you see Young Master Qin just now?" Chen Xiaodong asked cautiously.

Fu Jiu lazily stretched her arms and shoulders and said, "No."

"Thank goodness!" Chen Xiaodong sighed in relief.

Fu Jiu was confused. "Why does everyone act like I would do something to Young Master Qin if I saw him?"

"I fear you might hold onto his leg and not let go," Chen Xiaodong said morosely. "Young Master, did you forget what you did previously?"

It would have been fine if Chen Xiaodong hadn't mentioned it. His memory brought back a rush of embarrassing memories for Fu Jiu. It had happened in the very same canteen where she fell in love with the back of Almighty Qin at first sight. Then she had said she would make him her husband!

Fu Jiu wasn't easily embarrassed, but now she wanted to cover her face. Yet as a hacker queen, she needed to prove her innocence and lied without remorse. "The one who said it would make him a gigolo wasn't me."

Chen Xiaodong looked at her incredulously, his expression saying, Do you think all the students and teachers in the school are blind and deaf?

He took it upon himself to advise him. "Young Master, listen to me. Even if you like boys, it can't be Young Master Qin. His background is something the Fu family can't mess with! We're on different levels!"

"Okay," Fu Jiu replied, seemingly unfazed.

Chen Xiaodong stopped and became serious. He wanted to appeal to her emotions. "Young Master, can't you just like girls, please? The boss is already dissatisfied with you. He cut off your pocket money and has left you to your own devices at school. You might lose the opportunity to inherit the family business, which will be given to that pair of siblings being raised outside the family. Aren't you worried, young master? For Madam's sake, can you just consider not liking men?"

Hearing that, Fu Jiu halted. A cold glint flashed in her eyes.

All of Fu Jiu’s past misdeeds had been meticulously documented and reported to her father by a treacherous brother-sister duo who reveled in sowing discord. Younger, Fu Zhongyi had showered her with kindness and affection, treating her as his precious first legitimate “son.” His initial warmth created a fragile bond, but it didn't take long for toxic gossip and unfounded rumors to seep into his mind once they reached their teenage years, casting a shadow over their relationship. Slowly but steadily, he began to withdraw from her life, building an impenetrable wall of emotional distance.

When he began to entertain the unsettling suspicion that Fu Jiu might be gay, the situation took a darker turn. In a fit of rejection and denial, he abruptly cut off her financial support. His absence became more pronounced as he chose to stop returning home altogether, opting instead to move in with his mistress and their children, a reminder of his betrayal and the illicit affair that had taken root outside his marriage. In a callous display of indifference, he sidelined not only Fu Jiu but also humiliated Mrs. Fu, her mother, the woman who had steadfastly stood by him through the turmoil of their life together.

For Fu Jiu, the betrayal was ignoble and infuriating. She felt a simmering rage for someone so ungrateful. After all, Fu Zhongyi had built his empire on the foundation of her mother’s hard-earned wealth, and now that he basked in prosperity and prestige, he had discarded the very person who had once supported him. Such hypocrisy was intolerable. Now that she had assumed control of this body, she was resolute in her quest for vengeance, determined to reclaim not only her rightful place but also the legacy that had been unjustly stripped away from her mother and herself.

No longer would Fu Jiu be a passive bystander in her own life; those who had wronged her would soon learn she was no longer a doormat. With a newfound sense of purpose, she was ready to harness the power and resolve born of her past experiences, setting the stage for a dramatic turn in her life.
